Thank you to the many of you who have sent messages and kind words honouring my father's memory.
Just to confirm details of the charity we have chosen in memory of Peter. Rather than send flowers, we would prefer donations to Medecins sans Frontieres.
The funeral directors will pass on any cheques received for the next 3 months. Please make cheques payable to "Medecins sans Frontieres", and send to:
E Finch & Sons
123 High St
Aldershot
Hampshire
GU11 1TT

I would appreciate it if you could forward this email on to anyone Peter may have known.
Once we have arranged details of the memorial service, we will also forward details of the date and location
Many thanks, Ian Byrne
PS Please continue to send any correspondence to "icbyrne@gmail.com"

I am writing to let you know that my father, Peter Byrne, had a heart attack and died last Thursday. He died instantly and would not have suffered.
Our plan is to host a small funeral for family and close friends, followed by a memorial service in London at a later date. At this stage we would ask not to send flowers - we will be setting up details for charity donations, and feel that this would be more appropriate.
I will forward more details around the memorial service and where to send donations at a later date.
Yours, Maria Byrne
PS please can you send any replies or comments to icbyrne@gmail.com. .

Hello Everyone,
I received more information from Tynna and the funeral for Peter will be a private family affair.
However, there will be a memorial service, probably at The Brompton Oratory in three or four weeks time, and obviously I will keep you all informed.
Meanwhile, I telephoned and spoke to one of his sons.  If anyone out there would like to send a card or letter to Maria the address is:-
"Timbers",
6 Upper Park Road,
Camberley,
Surrey,
GU15 2ES
I presume that flowers/tributes can be sent to the same address and I will let you know when date of the funeral is announced.
Apparently Peter's death was very sudden, both he & Maria were at home when he collapsed, it was very quick, no pain or suffering, they think it was a massive heart attack.

Hello Everyone,
It is with great sadness that I have to inform you all that Peter Byrne died suddenly yesterday 4th August, I have no more details at this time.  I received an email from Tynna Phillips and no doubt I will be receiving more details shortly and will, of course, pass them on to you all as soon as I receive them.
Peter was a dealer when I started at Park Lane in 1971.  It was there that he met "Bunny Maria", they married & have been together ever since.  Maria gave birth to twin boys who must be almost in their 30's now and the whole family must be devastated.
I will be in touch as soon as I have any more news.
Barbara
Hi Neil,
I don't know if you already know but Peter Byrne died last week.
I'm not sure if you would remember Peter he was a Manager at London Playboy and had started there in the late 60's. I did not see your name on Barbara Haigh's mailing list so I was not sure if you were notified, I thought most of the Playboy London people were on her list.
I told Liza Walters last night, she didn't know and was shocked.
Perhaps you could send out a note for all of the London list, I am sure a lot of them would like to know.
I am going to forward you all the e-mails I received concerning Peter.
Hope all is well with you,
Don K
ps:     Abdul Khawaja, an Arab that used to frequent the London Playboy also died last week
Thank you to the many of you who have sent messages and kind words honouring my father's memory.

Neil, it is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of Peter Byrne. Peter was a manager at the London Playboy club and there will be many that remember him and Maria. I trust through your connections you will be able to pass this on.
 Regards Don
